Bringing a Pet Home Policy

Last updated:

Every pet on paaltujaanwar.com is offered by Paaltu Jaanwar Pet Shop in DHA Phase 5, Karachi. This Policy explains how to bring one home, what we check, what we promise and what we ask of you. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

1. How to bring a pet home

  1. Find a pet. See the pets on our website, and message us on WhatsApp with the listing ID to confirm price, age and availability.
  2. Visit us. Come to Shop No 4, Street 2, Plot No 3-C, Badar Commercial, Phase 5, DHA, Karachi, and meet the pet in person.
  3. Check. Look at the animal and its records. You are welcome to bring your own vet or ask for a vet check of your choice.
  4. Agree and pay. Pay at the shop once you are satisfied. We give you a written receipt showing the pet’s details, the price and the date.
  5. See your vet. Take your new pet to a vet soon after you bring it home, within 72 hours.

2. Payment and advance money

You pay for a pet only after you have met it. We do not take payment for pets on the Website, and we do not ask for advance or token money from anyone who has not visited us. Our staff will never ask you to send money for a pet to a personal account. If anyone claiming to be us does this, stop and contact us on 0300-1324669.

A pet marked “Reserved” is already being discussed with another family, and you can ask to be next in line.

3. What we check

Before showing a pet, we look at its general condition, eating and behaviour, and we keep whatever vaccination and deworming records it has. A listing shows only the details we have. If a record is not listed, ask us, and do not assume it exists.

A Verified badge, where shown, means our team has checked that pet and its records at the shop. It is not a veterinary certificate, and it cannot guarantee future health or adult temperament. Young animals can change quickly, so your own check and vet visit still matter.

4. Your health checklist

  • Eyes, ears and nose are clear, with no heavy discharge.
  • The coat is clean, without bald patches, sores, fleas or ticks.
  • The animal is alert, responsive and breathing easily, and moves normally.
  • There are no signs of diarrhoea or severe weakness.
  • Vaccination and deworming records have dates and, ideally, a clinic’s name.

Ask about what the pet eats, its routine, and its next vaccination.

5. Our health window

Tell us within 72 hours of bringing a pet home if a vet finds an illness that was likely present at the time you collected it. Send us the vet’s written report, your receipt and the listing ID.

We will review the case with you and offer a fair outcome, which may be help with treatment, taking the pet back, or a full or partial refund, depending on the findings. If an animal is unwell, its welfare comes first, so see a vet straight away. Your rights under the Sindh Consumer Protection Act 2014 and other law are unaffected.

We cannot accept responsibility for illness or injury caused after handover, such as by neglect, unsuitable food, heat or an accident. Any other promise must be in writing on your receipt.

6. If it does not work out

A pet is a commitment for its whole life. If your circumstances change, please talk to us first, and we will try to help you find a safe option. We do not promise to take a pet back after the health window has ended. Abandoning or neglecting an animal is cruel and can be an offence.

We do not offer puppies or kittens younger than about 8 weeks. We do not sell protected or wild-caught animals, or animals without the permits the law requires. See our Animal Welfare Policy. The law in Sindh restricts possessing and trading in wildlife without a permit, and this can apply to buyers as well.

8. Transport

We do not send pets by courier. Plan for a safe carrier, water, shade and a calm journey. Avoid moving young or short-nosed animals during peak summer heat.

9. Contact us
